Joshua Robbins


Joshua Robbins is Serafin’s behind-the-scenes power player who provides tenacious communications counsel for the C-suite, business leadership, project teams and coalitions across the U.S. He earns his place at the table through hard work and good old fashioned elbow grease.

With broad sector experience including mining, manufacturing, utility, power generation, retail, aviation and government, Joshua challenges the status quo, mentors teams and helps guide clients’ internal and external resources to victory.

His leadership has broadened the firm’s reach from its home base to serve national clients in major projects in all corners of the country. Joshua is a master of crisis preparedness and management, image and reputation positioning and legislative and grassroots campaigns.

Clients want him at the table when it comes to the more complex and detailed issues like strengthening emergency response systems, preparing for litigation, engaging employees and stakeholders, positioning businesses in the marketplace and guiding communications for business process design, customer satisfaction and engagement.

Equally at home in a board room as he is donning a hard hat on the plant floor, Joshua’s approach to service can be summarized succinctly: tireless. You’ll find him in the shadows speaking into an earpiece, touring a construction site, on the podium briefing the CEO before the major event and at the curb greeting the mayor of a major U.S. city.

Prior to joining Serafin, Joshua served as director of special communications at the Ohio Bureau Workers’ Compensation – a $23 billion state insurance agency that employed 3,300 people and served five million workers. Managing key media and public information campaigns, he spearheaded a drastic improvement in customer service and played an instrumental role in the agency’s massive transformation. As director of special projects for George Voinovich’s 1994 Ohio gubernatorial campaign, Joshua’s aptitude for rapid response and pioneering state-of-the-art special events helped lead the candidate to the largest victory margin for any Ohio governor in the twentieth century.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Management from Ohio’s Miami University; Joshua served on the University Board of Trustees as a student. His desert island pick? An iPhone charger.
