Scott Burnham is a veteran strategist who brings firsthand media and political experience to crisis communication, reputational risk and public affairs campaigns for clients.
Scott brings passion and persistence to critical issue engagements. He creates clear and effective messaging and pairs it with a savvy sense of where, when and how to tell a story.
Scott honed his media relations skills as communications director for Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias and later for his U.S. Senate campaign. He also spearheaded voter reform initiatives for one of the largest election jurisdictions in the country as communications director for the Cook County Clerk.
His government know-how was first developed as a political reporter at the Daily Southtown newspaper covering the inner workings of local, state and federal government and the politics and personalities behind the deals. During his career as a journalist, Scott also covered business, social justice issues, court proceedings and government investigations.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
