Megan McFarlane


Megan McFarlane is a public affairs strategist who advocates for organizations and causes at local, state and federal levels. 

Megan knows that successful communications strategies don’t just happen; they are meticulously crafted, passionately communicated and nurtured through authentic and trustworthy relationships.  

Megan was a digital content manager and legislative analyst for a government relations firm in Lansing, Michigan for two years before working as a public affairs, communications and government affairs manager in the cannabis industry for multiple firms. She supervised contract lobbyists in four states and worked with multiple trade associations to help shape the ever-expanding industry. 

She assisted with policy research for the 2018 Farm Bill while interning at the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee. 

You can often find Megan exploring everything Chicago has to offer with her miniature dachshund, Hamilton.  

A graduate of Michigan State University, Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Governance & Advocacy and is a 2018 William A. Demmer Scholar.
