Amid the hustle and bustle of Chicago’s business community and insider politics, no one is more at home than Betsy Sales. Whether in the city’s South or West side communities or in the corridors of City Hall, she is passionate about making Chicago a better place to live and work for everyone.
At Serafin, Betsy handles some of the firm’s most complex accounts, including working amid highly-regulated industries like gaming, energy and pharmaceuticals. Effortlessly traversing the interconnecting worlds of business and politics at the highest levels, Betsy is adept at finding common ground to everyone’s benefit.
Betsy is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President at Serafin. She has spearheaded some of the most ambitious, innovative and successful public affairs and community relations campaigns in Chicago history, which included successfully negotiating the way for a large retailer to build and operate its first Chicago store and a dozen more that followed.
Before joining the Serafin team, Betsy earned her reputation as a trailblazing promotional guru as marketing director for the Chicago Tribune’s WGN Radio. There she initiated, developed and executed marketing ventures with the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and DePaul University that are still in evidence today.
In 2015, Betsy was awarded the University of Pacific Amos Alonzo Stagg Award of Honor which recognizes alumni who lettered in athletics and since achieved distinction in their professional lives through the notable examples of integrity, dedication, idealism and team spirit that Mr. Stagg personified.
Growing up in California, Betsy earned a Bachelor of Arts with double majors in History and Political Science from the University of the Pacific in Stockton. Although never officially elected, she represents Serafin as the unofficial 51st alderman at City Hall.
